Right from the initial briefing the dragon was going to be the focal point of the cover

After a series of discussions with the designer it was decided an oriental styling would best suit the dragon with an overall warm colour palette and lattice work behind the sunburst adding fluidity and echoing the movement of the coiling body of the dragon.
